Long walk to the MRT

This is the route after exiting IBP and walking towards Jurong East MRT. Just follow the track amongst the grass and also the MRT track above. To the right is the train station. Not very far, probably about 10mins slow walk.

I tried walking from the MRT to IBP on tuesday morning after my gym session. I utterly regretted it not because I was late but it made me perspire very badly. I reached office at 9.10am, and that's after I've consumed my breakfast right across at The Atrium.

So this morning I actually went to try out the IBP feeder bus service for only 20c per trip. First time taker of course act cool, walk further and observe. The queue is so long you can't miss it though. And the queue is formed under the sun.

I did perspire, but I guess not as bad. Well, maybe it's time to consider a car?

More images of the company

Today left late, surprisingly 2nd day of work and I'm already working until 7.10pm. My colleague had to rush off after the training so I took the opportunity to take more shots. Fortunately, I didn't stay too long else I would have missed the last shuttle bus to Jurong East.

Seriously, I would hate to walk the stretch to the MRT. I'll do it when I'm not in a rush.

Anyways, this is the back of where I'm seated, as you can see from the previous post, my back is facing the glass panel for now, not a very 'feng shui' position but it's only temporary, when my colleague leaves, I will be taking over his seat, so I'll just bear with it for now.

As you leave via the exit of the room and towards the main entrance, you'll see the following corridor. Room's in the far yonder if you follow this path in and turn left and then right in. Right behind the 2nd pillar.

And nonetheless, this is my company's logo and front door.

This is all for now, will see if got chance to take more images.

New Job (with pics!)

For those who are not yet enlightened, I've gotten a job. I'm now with a company named Astute that does NETS and Loyalty rewards system and also handles the repairs and development of the NETS handheld machine you use when you make payment.

The company is located in International Business Park, yes, that's right Jurong East.

Today marked the first day at work and I was late for work by 15mins. After a brief introduction to the staff and I had a nice look at the ladies in the company, I was brought to my seating area. I'm now located in a room which the 'walls' facing the corridor is full glass.

I'm supposed to takeover the guy that's leaving, so I'm temporarily seated at the edge of his table.

Nothing much to feedback as of now except that there are more acceptable ladies and more eye candies in the new company.

This is the view of the room I'm in. This is of course taken by my Canon Ixus 860IS. I took it haphazardly since I don't want people to see me taking the pics and think I'm a fanatic of being at a new job.

My temporary table, like mentioned in my earlier post, I'm sitting between two PMs at the side of their edge. That's my laptop and my water bottle + spare laptop battery at the side.

This is the seat where I'll be taking over after my colleague leaves for AU, he's migrating there and this morning he just got a job confirmation in AU already. Lucky fella, migrating there with his wife and kids.

Shopping Spree

Went on a little shopping spree this week.

My first purchase of the week was the Canon Ixus 860IS on thursday.

I also got a Sandisk Ultra II 8GB SD card for use with the camera. Now I can take 3772 shots with my 8MP camera and/or 67 mins of video.

On Saturday, I went to purchase my long awaited NAS (Network Attached Storage). Finally, I have space for everything. Can do my back ups and also store my stuff. Doesn't make sense to have the disks stored in my PC and leaving it on to use the storage.

This is how the thng actually looks like from the front. Sitting behind the front bezel is 2 500GB Western Digital HDD.

I have it connected to my router and I can use it from any of the machines that is on my home network.

It's right beside my MacBook Pro.

There after, my friend went to buy his MacBook Pro 15" to replace his old old old PowerBook 12", so tagging along the purchase I managed to get the sales person to give me a good price for the Apple Wireless Keyboard.

Lovely sleek keyboard. Love it!

Damage?

Canon Ixus 860IS - $545
Sandisk UltraII 8GB SDHC - $88
DLink 323 NAS - $220
Western Digital 500GB HDD - $165 x 2
Apple Wireless Keyboard - $109

Not forgetting the two new shirts I bought too... this is one helluva expensive week.
